#985 I met my host father whom I haven’t seen for 21 years
They came to Japan for the 23rd World Scout Jamboree
I met my host father in Tokyo who was my host father in Seattle 21 years ago. We have’t seen each other for 21 years. He and his son who wasn’t born when I stayed at their home came to Japan for the 23rd World Scout Jamboree. A Jamboree consists of 32,000 scouts from 150 countries getting together. My host father and his son are members of the boy scouts.
I respect my host parents very much
I heard a lot of his family’s recent news, and I showed him old pictures from 21 years ago, on my PC. We realized that my age has passed the age of how old my host parents were when they took care of me in Seattle. It was a strange feeling. Although, time just passed for me, they raised four children and took care of a lot of Japanese students. I again very much respect my host parents.
This year is the 70th anniversary of WW2
On that day, they went to Kodomo-no-Kuni in Yokohama and saw the memorial of “The unknown scout” which is the story of a WW2 encounter of two boy scouts. This year is the 70th anniversary of WW2. Japan and America fought in the war 70 years ago. I don’t want to have a war with any other country again.
That night was very very hot in Tokyo.(2015.7.27)
